You bet it is.  Here's an excerpt from the Canadian government's own website ENVIRONMENT CANADA
Sustainable Development: Sustainable development is about meeting the needs of today without compromising the needs of future generations. It is about improving standard of living by protecting human health, conserving the environment, using resources efficiently and advancing long-term economic competitiveness. It requires the integration of environmental, economic and social priorities into policies and programs and requires action at all levels - citizens, industry, and governments.

Environment Canada released the first Progress Report on the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS) on June 16, 2011. This first Progress Report describes actions taken to implement the requirements under the Federal Sustainable Development Act since the tabling of the FSDSin October 2010. It focuses on progress made on setting up the systems needed to implement the FSDS and lays the foundation for future reporting by outlining how results will be measured and shared using the Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators. Like the FSDS itself, progress reports are part of a long-term 'plan, do, check, and improve' management approach geared to making environmental decision-making more transparent and accountable over time.

The FSDS was tabled on October 6th, 2010. For the first time, Canadians will see, all in one place, the Government of Canada’s environmental sustainability priorities and our progress in achieving them. The FSDS presents a detailed description of federal government activities to achieve environmental sustainability. The Strategy also commits to strengthening the guidelines for strategic environmental assessments by federal departments which help integrate environmental considerations related to economic and social decision-making. The Office of Greening Government Operations provides a series of guidelines to help departments and agencies implement and report progress on the Greening Government Operations targets for Theme IV of the Strategy.

The FSDS is mandated by the Federal Sustainable Development Act (the Act), which received Royal Assent on June 26, 2008. The Act responds to a number of international commitments Canada has made to produce such a strategy, including at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992 and at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The purpose of the Act is "to provide the legal framework for developing and implementing a Federal Sustainable Development Strategy that will make environmental decision-making more transparent and accountable to Parliament".

Public consultations were undertaken by the Sustainable Development Office at Environment Canada from March 15, 2010 to July 12, 2010.  Find information here regarding the Public Consultation on the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (PDF; 29 KB).

I'll bet those 'public consultations' were Delphi meetings where the public was invited to 'give their opinion' on FSDS.  Yep, Canadians are caught in the same miserable trap as everyone else.  But Canadians are fighting back.  Stop UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, in all of the provinces.  KICK ICLEI OUT OF CANADA.

People need to take action and understand that Agenda 21 has infiltrated every area of our lives, and most people have never heard of Agenda 21, ICLEI, the Biodiversity Assessment, the Earth Charter or even Maurice Strong. Wow! I am proud to call him a Canadian! It is time to draw attention to this nefarious agenda that will see the end to our rights and freedoms, and even our nation. It is not about the environment! It is about the abolition of private property and the control of every human being on earth. Period. People need to understand that. Stand up now and say no, or be on your knees later saying yes! We have to organize peaceful protests and have speakers presenting this topic so that the word can be spread. Knowledge is the greatest threat to tyranny. The dark will perish when it is brought into the light. Notice on ICLEI Canada's website that they don't mention the UN or Agenda 21. They hide behind buzz words and positive speech to indoctrinate people on their movement. I am starting a website that exposes Agenda 21. It is a multi tentacled monster, and the learning curve is incredible. The Global Biodiversity Assessment alone is 1140 pages. I devote every free minute I have to educating myself on their agenda and then educating others, because there is no more pressing and urgent matter then Agenda 21. I want these pieces of garbage to know that they have been put on notice! They will not win without a fight and any good fight starts with educated and motivated people. They are indoctrinating our children through the Earth Charter to become good little global citizens. The authors of the Earth Charter have stated that it will become the new 10 commandments. I, for one, am telling them that they can't have my kids! Sorry, Maurice! We may lose this fight but at least I can say that I gave my best to battle these elite pigs that want to enslave us all.

“So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men.” François-Marie Arouet de Voltaire

Forewarning: Just because your hamlet, village, town, city, Municipality, County or Region in Canada isn't specifically listed as an ICLEI member does NOT mean that Agenda 21/ Sustainable Development isn't being implemented where you live!

That is particularly important for rural residents to remember. If your local/ county/ regional government is a member of any "Association" of "Municipalities" or the "Federation of Canadian Municipalities", you'd better start checking for a "sustainability" or "strategic" plan that has already decided on what YOUR "vision" for YOUR future and property "shall be" - just as it is for "the community as a whole" (aka "the greater good"). This is Collectivism incarnate, being incrementally foisted on one unsuspecting community after another by Fabianistic means, folks.

Since the Federal Sustainable Development Act and Strategy have already been mentioned, allow me to expand on this by offering readers Canada's nation-wide Trail of top-down Funding for the bottom-up implementation of Agenda 21 and an Ontario-specific funding trail example from the provincial funding re-allocation point downward (as well as Ontario-specific legislative support for the development and implementation of Local Agenda 21's).

The first thing every property owner needs to check is exactly where the top-level "authority" for all major "planning" for their municipality lies... ie: correctly identify precisely who (both the "body", it's "name" and its "members") holds control over, reviews and updates the "official plan" that directs and regulates growth and development for the jurisdiction where you live; also applies/ enforces special land use designations and policies.

Next, review and record all interactions over the past few years between that "local planning authority" and all interconnections between your local municipal council members, any of their staff and appointed committees.

Review and record the same information discovered between that "local planning authority" and "bilateral" interconnections with regional NGO's, ENGO's, "Economic Development" departments/agencies (of which "Sustainable Development" is often a sub-grouping), P3's, other regional collectives and all "upward" accountability to provincial bureaucracies, P3's and ministries.

Finally, track and record all info pertinent to the top-down funding that's succeeding at getting local councils in your area to adopt the publicized "strategic planning process" that facilitates the politically-unaccountable and bottom-up implementation of Agenda 21 across Canada:

Funding for Agenda 21 implementation trickles top-down; fulfillment returned from the bottom-up:

Programs:

Provincial-Territorial Agreements > Gas Tax Fund Agreements (Section Key to Agenda 21):

- from this point on, the funding trail forks out to the provinces/territories

**For example, follow the Ontario-specific trail to local municipalities via either The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) (OR – to The City of Toronto ) **

“In 2002 five multidisciplinary panels across the province were appointed by the Ontario government to provide strategic advice on issues relevant to their zones. Panel members consulted with stakeholders and the public, met with experts, and evaluated research before submitting their final recommendations in 2003.”

...scroll down, click on Planning Act Reform (Bill 51)

Which leads you to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) "politburo":
http://www.mah.gov.on.ca/Page338.aspx

“"Land use planning means managing our land and resources. It helps each community to set goals about how it will grow and develop and to work out ways of reaching those goals while keeping important social, economic and environmental concerns in mind. It balances the interests of individual property owners with the wider interests and objectives of the whole community."

MMAH>Land Use Planning>The Green Energy and Green Economy Act:
http://www.mah.gov.on.ca/Page6670.aspx

“The ministry has worked with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources to move forward in facilitating green energy. The GEA positions Ontario as a leader in green energy and contributes to building a strong, green economy.”

"Green Energy" is but one of the centrally-planned means to achieving the "Green Economy" goal.

It's all about Centralized Planning, for building a Centrally Managed Economy. Equality of Opportunity bows to Equality of Outcome in Our Common Future. Good-bye Individual Rights and Liberties. Au Revoir, to the Canada we want.

Well done, Faith! I came across another of many examples in 'Imagine Calgary'. Under 'Equity' you'll find this: the personal and collective freedoms that Calgarians enjoy are balanced by their responsibilities to each other and the world.

Balancing is the term that Communitarians like to use when they're advocating taking your individual rights away.

Another interesting example from this study 'Imagine Calgary' is this: 'By 2010 (the report is from 2007, I believe), at least 75% of Calgarians report that they volunteer for the benefit of others outside of their circle of family and friends.'

Volunteering will be mandatory. Think about that. It will be one of the 'responsibilities' of citizenship.

Great work, Faith. Thank you. Rosa

Rosa said: "Volunteering will be mandatory. Think about that. It will be one of the 'responsibilities' of citizenship."

Yes, I know. As a matter of fact, I know of one brave Canadian who lives in a rural village that spoke to their local council on that topic, back in 2003 and their accompanying print hand-out about the NWO was titled "The Death of the Spirit of Volunteerism".

Cheers, Rosa - we'll stand or be taken down as one "member state" in the Agenda's implementation. Canadians ARE catching on and are working very hard to wake up the apathetic majority nation-wide. Thank you for giving me (and other Canadians) an additional forum to share our info and thoughts where our USA counterparts can know of our efforts.

I have been educating myself on multiple subjects for the past 2 to 3 yrs. I have never been interested in politics, I was too busy working to survive because that is what my father tought me. work hard and pay your bills on time. now that I'm in my 40's and enjoying taking more time off I decided to start looking up somethings that were bothering me, and man I sort of think I should'nt have done that because it opened up a can worms...rotten stickin worms. Now I can't stop and just came about agenda 21 and starting to study that. I find it very difficult to understand being french and all and they have a way of writing things so it is difficult to comprehend, but rest assured, i will understand.
And best of all I am educating my kids with all of this and preparing them mentally.

I am starting to think those "doomsday preppers" are that crazy after all.

United and educated!
