Just when you thought you'd seen everything, here's the Playmobil Security Check Point, recommended for children ages 4-7.  Although clearly unrealistic (woman is shown wearing shoes and her sweater and coat, and the security device is the old style walkthrough), this instructive exercise in how to participate in an invasive search will delight your pre-schooler!

Take a look at the comments on the Amazon site where the 'toy' was formerly offered (it is no longer available).  My favorite is the request for a Guantanamo Playset.

And speaking of children's games, I suggest that you obtain a copy of The Children's Story by James Clavell.  This little parable was written in 1963 and takes place after a coup d'etat.  The setting is a classroom where Clavell shows how easy it would be to convert the hearts and minds of children from one form of government to another.  You'll be shocked to see how long it takes.

A couple of other images from the Amazon Playmobil Security Check Point site, and then a production of The Children's Story:

This is hilarious! Not a joke, though. thanks for posting and for the heads up on the Children's Story. I read it years ago and have forgotten about it. I'll pick one up.

the Playmobil Special Forces Unit looks like a lot of fun too!

*sarc off*

Seriously, what scenarios will kids create with these figures?

It's already going on in classrooms: Ultra liberal teachers stomping on American Flags. And why not? They all idolize Bill Ayers who has shaped our kids educations in ways most have no idea about. And he had his photo taken, standing on the flag, on an anniversary of 911.
