What Does UN Agenda 21 look like in my town?

10/30/2013

One way to recognize UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development is as a land use plan.  Often these plans will be regional--crossing jurisdictional boundaries to group towns, cities, counties, parishes, and sometimes sections of different states together under a federally mandated Metropolitan Planning Commission and a Council of Government.  These are often called Regional Planning Councils.

Here's a list of just a few of these plans:
  • One Bay Area/Plan Bay Area (9 counties 101 cities in the SF Bay Area) We're suing to stop this
  • The Power of 32 (32 Counties in 4 states (OH, PA, WV, MD)
  • One Valley One Vision (this title is used in Southern California, in Montana, and in Dona Ana County/Las Cruces, New Mexico)
  • Imagine KC (Kansas City, MO)
  • Envision Skagit 2060 (Washington)
  • Imagine 2040 (this is a popular title used by Hillsborough County, Florida; Memphis, TN area; and the Durham/Chapel Hill, NC area; and others)
  • Vision 2025 (another popular one, this is used by San Mateo County,CA; and Tulsa, OK)
  • Nine Counties One Vision (Tennessee)
  • PlanET (East Tennessee)
  • PlaNY (New York City)
  • Five Counties One Vision (Minnesota)
  • Four States One Vision (OK, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas)
  • One Region One Vision (used by New York and by Indiana)
  • Seven50 (7 counties in SE Florida--one county has pulled out so they should change the name to Six50 ;>
  • Granite State Future (New Hampshire)

These are just a few of the plans you'll find around the US.  They're all the same plan, of course.  The street names change but the plans are all the same.  All plans include Smart Growth--high density housing with restrictions on personal space and car usage. All plans span from 20 to 50 years.  All plans support high speed rail.  All plans link housing and transportation.  All plans use 'visioning' workshops to invite the public to give their opinion on the plan even though it won't change it one bit.

Planners are panicking now because we are showing up at our county supervisor meetings and speaking out against these plans all over the nation.  The planners have been quoted saying things like: 'I've never seen anything like this.  The people are objecting to these plans for the first time.'  They're used to doing this planning without your oversight, and they prefer it if you can be jollied along to agree with their vision of tightly packed housing with economy-destroying rail projects.  Yes, when they invited the public to come to the visioning meetings they didn't mean YOU. You're not really a 'stakeholder' unless you agree with the plan.

You're told that unless you agree to regionalize your county/city/state you won't be able to compete on a global scale.   It's more EFFICIENT.  Yes, it is.  So is a dictatorship.

Just wanted to point out the nice mention of Rosa's expertise in Foster Gamble's blog on the Thrive Movement website. Here is the link:

The Nazis had a word for this process: Gleichschaltung. It refers to the process of getting everybody (community groups, unions, etc) on the same page, which the Nazis accomplished through intimidation or threat of economic reprisal. In these kinder and gentler times, Gleichschaltung requires instead assiduous public relations, a certain amount of mendacity, and of course, unassailable stated objectives (peace, clean environment, democracy, etc.). If the past is any predictor of the future, the Intimidation and reprisals will come when those few left in opposition have been marginalized and are objects of public scorn--- maybe 15 years (barring a crisis to accelerate the process). Then you'll see the gloves come off. Rosa, I expect you'll find there is a nice warm cot in a Louisiana (or rather, Region III) work camp waiting just for you.

    And the winner is...

What is UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development?
It is the blueprint, the comprehensive plan of action for the 21st century to inventory and control all land, all water, all plants, all minerals, all animals, all construction, all means of production, all energy, all law enforcement, all health care, all food, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world
    .

Your energy consumption will be controlled until you can't farm, can't manufacture, can't travel, can't fish, can't use your land. Productivity and businesses are limited now.

You've heard that story about Tony Blair asking Angela Merkel how Germany could have such a high GDP when it was such a small country.  Merkel snapped at him: We still make things in Germany, Mr. Blair.
