Fought local projects that are Agenda 21-driven, and WON
Stopped the Mandatory Green Building Retrofit program that would have made it mandatory to have EVERY building in the entire city inspected from the attic to basement, inside, and forced owners to make energy upgrades of up to 1.5% of value before they could get a permit or sell the property. We put out 7,000 flyers--door to door--to inform the public, and this plan was aborted. How did we do it?See www.SantaRosaNeighborhoodCoalition.com for details
Stopped the Humboldt Street Bike Boulevard that would have effectively closed a major collector street to cars--at a cost of $800,000. We fought this for 18 months and the city finally removed their 'pilot project' :the temporary traffic circles that were causing near misses on a daily basis. Cost of 'pilot program'? $200,000. How did we do it? See our website www.SantaRosaNeighborhoodCoalition.com for details
Stopped the Business Improvement Area tax on local businesses to pay for 'Main Street USA' improvements, a corporate entity supposedly supporting business but making money for themselves only.
Demanded that our state Senator Pat Wiggins be removed from her post because of incompetence. She was apparently suffering from Alzheimers for 3 years and her aides were posting legislation in her name. We blew the whistle on this and caused an uproar. www.SantaRosaNeighborhoodAssociation.com
