RELIGIOUSITY AND THE HOLIEST PROFESSION: Planning

5/30/2014

Picture
The American Planning Association has a couple of slogans that you should know about:
"Collective Strength."
"Making Great Communities Happen."

The APA wants you to know that without them you'd just be a mess.  Here's what they say in their Communications Bootcamp Webinar #1 (November 4, 2011):

"PLANNERS ARE THE GUARDIANS OF THE FUTURE."

The 'guardians of the future' is a mighty important position---one that most of us are unaware of, and to which we don't recall electing anyone from the APA.

"PLANNING IS ABOUT LEADING, INNOVATING AND INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION."

A profession that has such a high opinion of itself should be committed to following an ethical road but you'll see that the American Planning Association encourages planners to manipulate outcomes to---what?---protect the plan!  They want your info, but only so they can use it to fight you.

  • "Reach out to groups likely to oppose
  • Request a meeting with them to listen to concerns and ideas
  • Do not try to change their minds--collect their input
  • Encourage them to provide you with materials (books, websites, etc.)
  • Research local activist websites"

The planners who work in your local planning department or are the consultants hired to craft your local plan (or the 'regional' plan) are members of the American Planning Association.  You are paying them.  Those who work for your local government are civil servants who expect long term employment with a pension at the end of their term. These planners are advising your local elected officials; your mayor, the planning commissioners, the council people, the county supervisors etc.  Most of those elected officials will be in and out of office while the staff stay on for twenty years or more.  The staff (the planners) was trained by and uses American Planning Association materials.  Staff lives in your town usually.  Here's what the APA advises them to do when we come out to tell the truth about their plans:

Build up your base.
  • Reach out to fans of planning and trusted messengers
  • Cultivate and prepare key champions and messengers
  • Educate them about the nature of these attacks
  • Enlist them to help and respond:  Public forums and testimony.  Online, social and traditional media
  • Provide support to elected officials and educate the media
  • Cultivate influentials who can 'push back' when needed
  • Coach your elected officials
  • Innoculate elected officials

And now for the conclusion!

"Planning needs to be reframed as something pivotal to the return of American prosperity and economic strength."

Yes, the APA wants you to know that if it were not for those planners overlaying transit oriented zoning all over your town we'd be doomed to crushing economic collapse forever...as we may well be if they keep overlaying transit oriented zoning all over our towns.  And the APA wants us to believe that if we don't think REGIONALLY we're doomed.  And the APA wants us to believe that if we don't go along with 'planned future' we'll die.

Now, instead of "planning" go back to the sections in blue and replace the word 'PLANNING' with ... the name of a religion that you might not agree with....and read it again. Do you believe? You need to have faith in Planning.  You must trust that the planners are making great communities happen through their collective strength and superior vision.  Planners are the leaders of the next generation---they told you so.

Are the planners the holy priests? The guardians of our future?  The creators of the grand utopia that we are too stupid to accept without a struggle? The holy seers who redesign our lives and fight us when we foolishly object?

ICLEI FUNDERS INCLUDE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT--AND YOU

5/29/2014

Are you making charitable contributions? volunteering? Take a look at some of ICLEI's funders and then think about their links to other groups that you may be funding or participating in.  Withdraw your support from those who are working against you.  If you listen to National Public Radio or watch PBS you'll recognize many of these groups.  Ask yourself why the US Department of State and US EPA are funding ICLEI with your taxes?  What will you do about it?  AT LEAST REFUSE TO GO ALONG.

Is that group affiliated with the UN?

5/18/2014

Wondering if the group you're researching has an affiliation with the UN? Does it have general or special consultative status enabling it to have special access to UN meetings and commissions?

If it's the World Wide Fund for Nature, or the American Society of International Law, or the International Chamber of Commerce, you'll find it on this list...Click here

Playing both sides against the middle and other joys of the election season

Mask Drawing -- Rosa Koire
It's gone out of fashion to label yourself or others these days, and no wonder.  It can be hard to know what your political affiliation is when progressives are socialists, libertarians come in all flavors across the spectrum, and independents try to find their way out of the maze without stepping in anything.

Now you'll get your choice of a Bush or a Clinton again as the game continues.  Whoopee, we get to vote for a woman.  As a feminist in the 80's I lost my enthusiasm for gender-based voting when Margaret Thatcher took over the UK. Genitalia doesn't guarantee a viewpoint. In fact, voting on that basis is a fool's game. When Hilary ran the last time I said "Who better than a woman to take our rights away?"  Well, we saw the answer to that with Obama.  The illusion of concern for your rights is all that's necessary when the regime has a 'show Congress' and a fascist game plan.  That game plan includes green energy and climate action plans regardless of political party or gender when you're playing 'The Price is Right' with our lives.

Putting on a green mask and promising the green new deal is a sure way to enrich the tech/energy companies and drain ratepayers and taxpayers while ensuring big campaign contributions.  Yes, it's loan guarantees for solar farms and wind farms, huge cash grants through production tax credits (over $8 billion dollars by 2012), and over $15 billion in treasury grants for wind.  The new green deal stinks like festering slime in an algae encrusted pool.

You're about to see carbon credits used as the new medium of exchange on a personal level---use more than your water allotment? Go to the local water exchange to buy enough credits for your vegetable garden. Meanwhile the huge corporate farms will be making 'donations' to Congress and the environmental groups that are pushing these new green requirements for your future poverty. Artificial scarcity. Loss of independence.  Pay more for that power than ever before while using less.  Ahh, the joys of the Smart Grid.

What happens while your government partners with the power generators and the huge corporations and the environmental foundations? Your credits can be cut, your allotments can be reduced, your debt will be increased, your options narrowed.  Going green. When you're promised something for nothing you'd better do your research and ask the hard questions.

The green mask looks good---that's why it's so appealing.  When you look behind it, it doesn't pass the smell test.  You'll be up to your ankles in the green pool while holding a live wire.  Zap.

IT DOESN'T COME WITH FLASHING LIGHTS AND IT WON'T BE CALLED UN AGENDA 21.  BUT IT IS.

Debt for Nature Swaps, Bundy, China, UN Agenda 21, and you

5/8/2014

Stickers on a lightpole in Germany 2013
Debt for Nature.   Club of Paris agreement (1990 Houston terms) to have debtor nations manage their debt by converting it to 'conservation projects' for their creditors' benefit.  Now we see that the China Connection in Nevada has the distinct odor of Debt for Nature.

To get a bit more perspective on the concept
let's take a look at an interview with 'anti-anthropologist' Professor Maurice Bloch, as quoted in Eurozine (click to read)

Maurice Bloch: "To that I would add one thing that I think is very important. That is that in Madagascar, the development experts are being replaced by conservationists who wield tremendous power. They are largely motivated by some general kind of ideologies about ecology in the world, about preserving forests or some species, which is obviously a good idea. But what they really want is to have large reserves in places like Madagascar. They want to turn the whole country into a national park. Countries like Madagascar are hugely indebted. And European and North-American countries perform a kind of blackmail, which they call "swapping debt for nature". If you'll have natural parks then we'll drop the debt. And of course, the Malagassy government can't resist. The Malagassy elite are quite happy to have as many natural parks as the wealthy countries like, because the parks bring experts and the experts bring their money. But for the local people, it means that their land is just being taken away. They are not allowed to cultivate their land anymore. And they say, quite rightly, "the land has gone to the Americans". Villagers see their field on the other side of the fence; if they go to their field they will be fined or imprisoned, while they see American or European natural scientists wandering around on it. It's a terrible situation.

"Those anthropologists who work there have denounced very strongly what is going on in ecology. But they find that because of the power and self-righteousness of the ecological discourse, it is difficult to get heard. "

Sound familiar?

Now think about China's connection to the US in terms of debt.

This is US law:
Global Environmental Protection Assistance Act of 1989
Title 22, Chapter 32, Subchapter I, Part VII, Section 2281

Sec. 2281. - ''Debt-for-nature exchange'' defined

For purpose of this part, the term ''debt-for-nature exchange'' means the cancellation or redemption of the foreign debt of the government of a country in exchange for -

(1)  that government's making available local currencies (including through the issuance of bonds) which are used only for eligible projects involving the conservation or protection of the environment in that country (as described in section 2283 of this title); or

(2) that government's financial resource or policy commitment to take certain specified actions to ensure the restoration, protection, or sustainable use of natural resources within that country; or

(3) a combination of assets and actions under both paragraphs (1) and (2)

What is UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development?
It is the blueprint, the comprehensive plan of action for the 21st century to inventory and control all land, all water, all plants, all minerals, all animals, all construction, all means of production, all energy, all law enforcement, all health care, all food, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world
    .

Your energy consumption will be controlled until you can't farm, can't manufacture, can't travel, can't fish, can't use your land. Productivity and businesses are limited now.

You've heard that story about Tony Blair asking Angela Merkel how Germany could have such a high GDP when it was such a small country.  Merkel snapped at him: We still make things in Germany, Mr. Blair.
