IN SUPPORT OF FREEDOM ON THE KLAMATH RIVER

11/20/2011

STOP DAM REMOVAL ON THE KLAMATH PUBLIC COMMENTS CLOSE NOV 21 (Forwarded from Matt Grocott, MY LIBERTY)   I am writing to ask for your help in supporting the farmers and ranchers of Southern Oregon and Northern California.  There is an ugly situation going on there which I have witnessed myself and since witnessing, have been deeply troubled over.  I do not understand why our government would go to the measures it has planned to hurt good people barely making a living off their land.  What is proposed by the Department of the Interior will be the final blow to an already decimated area economically.  These folks need our help.

The Federal Government is planning to destroy four dams on the Upper Klamath River.  One in southern Oregon; the other three in northern California.  Allegedly, it is to save the Coho salmon.  According to people in the area, dam removal will wipe out clean, affordable, electrical power to 70,000 homes, release tons of sediment from behind the dams and make the river less reliable for irrigation; the river will be a mere stream in the summer, a flood threat in the spring, and toxic.
Already government policies have removed miners and loggers from the area; now the target is ranchers and farmers. One reason California is in such bad shape economically is because of government policies in our rural areas.  It's time we stood up and put a stop to any more destruction of our rural communities and their economies.
I urge you to write or e-mail comments challenging the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) and the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS).  See below for the two lead agencies to contact.  Also see below for example points you may wish to make (in your own words).
Be sure to request that the dams NOT be removed.
Next, please forward this message to other people you know will agree with keeping the dams in place.  We must let the government know we will not stand for the destruction of rural America and the water rights/property rights of our fellow citizens.
Thank you in advance for you help.

WATER QUALITY
Challenge:How will taking out dams improve water quality?  Klamath is naturally warm and polluted up stream*  Area of headwaters is volcanic and rich in minerals, including basalt, magnesium and phosphorus*  System of four dams filters out the minerals and allows the water to cool
POLLUTING SEDIMENTS from BREACH
Challenge:How will the release of toxic sediment into the river ecosystem, caused by the breaching of the dams, be mitigated?*  Years of built up, toxic sediment will be released*  Toxic sediment will pollute water, banks, riparian plant life, fish and underground acquifers*  Toxicity of river and acquifers may last 100 years or more
GREEN and AFFORDABLE ENERGY
Challenge:How will the green, affordable energy currently provided by the four, hydroelectric dams be replaced?*  Existing four dams provide hydroelectric power*  Hydroelectric power is both green and economical*  Current system provides enough electricity to power 70,000 homes
STAKEHOLDERS
Challenge:How were "stakeholders" determined?*  40,000 Siskiyou County residents and their local, elected representatives were not included in the Klamath River Dam removal meetings*  Four tribes exist in the Klamath Basin - the Shasta, Karuk, Yurok, and Hupa; the Shasta have been left out of all agreements and their sacred burial grounds will be destroyed when the dams are breached
PROTECTING NON-NATIVE FISH
Challenge:A major impetus for dam removal is concern over the Coho salmon, a non-native species to the Klamath River; why?*  Coho salmon are not native to the Klamath and were planted in the river in the late 1800's      *  Coho are not natural to the Klamath and yet millions of fish produced at the Iron Gate fish hatchery are not included in the river population because they are not considered natural*  Coho typically spawn within 30 miles of the ocean;  first dam on the Klamath is 187 miles upstream

Just following orders...Nuremberg Laws for Planners

11/15/2011

After World War II there were trials for Nazi war criminals in Nuremberg, Germany.  The trials were conducted by the Allies. On the whole, very few war criminals were prosecuted.  Those who were repeatedly stated that they were just following orders and it was the responsibility of those who were higher up in the chain of command to act in an ethical manner.  Going along to get along.  Good Germans.

But the prosecutors and Judges in these trials did not accept the 'just following orders' defense.  Ethical people should be able to determine right from wrong and refuse to go along to get along, even when it meant they may themselves suffer.  The Nuremberg Principles say that even if given an order to take an action that is wrong, a decent human being has the right and duty to disobey.  The right and duty.  The duty to disobey when ordered to take an action in violation of common decency or law.

Once I was in an American airport and asked a group of soldiers who were waiting to fly somewhere if they had heard of the Nuremberg Principles.  They had not.  I asked them if they knew that it was their right and duty to disobey an unethical order.  They all said that they had not been taught that.  Sir, yes, sir!

Planners in the United States have been trained to follow rules and regulations that restrict the free use of private property.  They see themselves as the gatekeepers of the environment and the rulebook, the General Plan, that dictates what is allowed in their municipality.  I have spoken to hundreds of planners, some of whom say that they try to help property owners 'get around' the rules.  This is not good enough.

There should be Nuremberg Principles for Planners.  Laws that protect a planner's job if she or he refuses to enforce a rule, regulation, restriction, ordinance, statute, or law that violates private property rights.  Planners who are 'just following orders' are on the frontlines of regulatory takings and radical fines and penalties.  Indoctrinated and brainwashed by years of propaganda---Growing Smart: Legislative Guidebook with Model Statutes for Planning and the Management of Change---planners must free their minds and professional organizations from rules that are unethical and wrong.  Government by unelected boards and commissions is unacceptable in the United States.  Consultants' contracts should be immediately terminated.  Non-governmental organizations have no place in government.  Planners should be retrained to understand private property rights and their importance to a free nation.

Smart Growth, mixed use, high density urban development,  and redevelopment projects are public private partnerships and reward cronies while creating the hardscape for the herd. Restrictive ditch setbacks, buffer zones, shoreline bands, viewsheds, and other regulatory takings selectively pick winners and losers and destroy lives.

If you are a planner, know that we will stand with you and come to your defense if you refuse to enforce unethical rules.  Speak out and inform the Planning Commission and your Council or Board of Supervisors that you will no longer conspire to destroy private property rights.

Speak out.  Stand up.  STOP UN AGENDA 21.

DEBT FOR NATURE--Who owns our water?

11/7/2011

Every once in a while I'll say 'This stuff is so crazy that you couldn't make it up if you tried.'   It's the Disaster Movie of the Week that you can't shut off.  Well, I guess we can, and will.  Right?  Are you with me?  I know you are!

Anyway, I've been looking at the proposed Trans Texas Corridor information and it's ugly.  The plan is for a toll road running through Texas, owned by a Spanish company, only 5 on/off ramps through the entire STATE, and it's a quarter mile wide.  Splits the state in half.  Texans stood up and said Hell No and it went away for a while but it's still alive and in the planning stages at Texas Dept of Transportation.  It's the North American Union roadway designed to bring goods in from a Mexican port, bypassing US ports in Long Beach and Oakland, and then shooting them up to Canada with major linkages to US interstates.  It's not designed to relieve congestion in Texas--it's essentially a land based shipping lane that is controlled and owned by a foreign entity.  Yep.  There is a terrific video on YouTube called Truth Be Tolled that you should watch.

So that's not the worst thing.

The worst thing is that, courtesy of Vicky Davis, the world renowned researcher at www.ChannelingReality.com, I found out about the Club of Paris.  Now earlier in my life I would have stopped at the name and thought "This is stupid.  Probably some conspiracy theory" and let it go.  But not now.  No, this is sourced in the actual documents and here it is:  The Club of Paris is the creditor group of nations and the rules they play by.  Sort of the Biggest Little Casino in the World, or, maybe more accurately, The Biggest Organized Crime Ring in the World.  The Club of Paris sounds like a gentleman's social club and it is, in a way.  It's where the G8 and up get together to decide how much credit to give smaller nations or larger nations who need it.  And what they want for it.  You can think of it as the "Pound of Flesh A Month Club."  Our flesh.  Or our natural resources.  Yes.  That is a way to pay off debt in this club.  It's called Debt For Nature.  Re
member I said you can't make this stuff up.  This is real.

Does that have anything to do with the fact that the US is closing off access to our National Forests through the Wildlands Project?  Are we paying off debt with natural resources?  With water?

With the Trans Texas Corridor?

Yes, it looks that way.  The Club of Paris has another provision for debt payoff called Debt Swap.  This is where the government of the creditor nation sells the debt itself to an investor who then sells that debt back to the debtor government in exchange for shares in a local company or local currency.  But that doesn't make a lot of sense does it?  That last part?  Here's the deal in a way that we are familiar with.  You want to buy a house.  You need a loan.  You get the loan.  The lender doesn't keep the loan but sells it to an investor at a discount (this happens all the time, every day).  Now you're paying your loan payments to the new guy.  But he says hey, I'll sell you your own debt, in other words I'll cancel your debt, if you give me shares in ... but wait.  How can you, Mr. President of a country, sell  your creditor shares in a local company?  Governments don't own companies, do they? Well, maybe they do...GM?  Fannie Mae?

And if you had enough local currency to pay off the debt you probably would have already.  So what are you going to use to buy back, or cancel, your debt?  How about Bechtel getting Bolivia's water?  Remember?  What about China getting the Panama Canal?  I wonder how that happened?  I don't know, I'm just wondering about that one.  But how about a big hunk of land?  Oil and gas leases?  Water?  Timber? Toll roads?

Club of Paris.  Check it out.

Democratic Party in Virginia attacks fellow Democrat

11/1/2011

I thought you'd be interested in the following chain of emails.  I'll start at the end, with my note to Valerie L'Herrou, Chair of the Albemarle County Democratic Committee, a person I have never met.

Valerie L’Herrou
Chair, Albemarle County Democratic Committee
Dear Ms. L'Herrou,
I was forwarded the following chain.  Your statements regarding me are libelous and ignorant.  I am a Democrat.  I have been a registered Democrat since 1974. My group, Democrats Against UN Agenda 21, is engaged in providing the truth about UN Agenda 21 to the public. If you persist in spreading libelous lies about me I will take legal action against you personally and against your group.
Sincerely,
Rosa Koire

Thank you for your message. It’s always nice to hear from folks who live outside our county, and flattering that they pay us so much attention! You may be surprised to learn that Ms. Koire, the author of the website link you sent, is not actually a Democrat, but merely pretends to be one so that she can get attention at the Tea Party rallies at which she speaks... and that her website was not “put together by Dems.”  It’s certainly not very nice of her to misrepresent herself in this way, and it is unfortunate that she has alarmed you with her unsubstantiated statements about Agenda 21. Unfortunately, there are many such unscrupulous people who are using the internet to mislead others, and it’s difficult to always know who is telling the truth. However, in this instance, it’s quite easy to go straight to the source—I’m sure you will feel reassured if you read Agenda 21 yourself. You’ll see that it doesn’t actually contain the scary ideas that Ms. Koire suggests in her website. http://www.un.org/esa/dsd/agenda21/res_agenda21_00.shtml
If I can be of any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Cynthia Neff and others of the Democratic party in your area could benefit from looking up and reading Democratsagainstunagenda21.com

It is a very informative website put together by Dems in CA to explain the origins of the Sustainability Movement. Mrs. Neff comes off as uninformed in her comments regarding ICLEI, Cool Counties and Sustainability.

THIS JUST IN...CHINESE TAKEOVER OF OUR TELECOM GRID

11/1/2011

A plea to pass this email along to anyone who might be receptive to the news... sent by Vince Wade

This is an important story/commentary. It centers on Michigan but the issue is spreading to other states. Huawei, a giant Chinese telecom company widely reputed to be a front for Chinese espionage, is installing the latest generation of high speed broadband equipment throughout Michigan's Thumb region, thanks to a Saginaw Co. called SpeedConnect. The deal in Michigan mirrors Huawei's efforts to get its equipment installed in our telecom grid from coast to coast. We're not talking about China rolling out a string of Dollar stores. This is about our vital national telecommunications grid and China's efforts to hack into it on a permanent basis.   Over the past 10 years the U.S. government has been resisting Huawei's efforts to infiltrate our national defense telecommunications grid. Our counterintelligence agencies have fought letting Huawei in to any of our secure national security networks but apparently there is no law forbidding Huawei from selling/installing its gear in in the public, civilian networks.

Widespread deployment will make it easier for Chinese spies to exploit inadvertent connections to the secure federal networks in the future. If this prompts you to think of careless, security-unconscious university researchers, go to the head of the class. Huawei almost got in to a government-funded supercomputer at the University of Tennessee recently, but someone blew the whistle.

For those of you in Michigan, SpeedConnect is owned by a Grosse Pointe (Lakeshore Dr.) attorney named Bob Liggett, who is better known for his other business: the Big Boy restaurants of Michigan. He owns the franchise. This is not in the video for reasons of program length and it wasn't essential to telling the story.

As the commentary forcefully notes, this is yet another story unreported thus far by Michigan's news media. As many of us have discovered, people don't know what to make of revelations like this because the media silence has been so pervasive. The refusal of the Michigan media to deal with any story critical of Communist China is a story itself.   That's why it is vital to get this video circulated at the grass roots level. We have no other avenue except citizen-to-citizen emails. It appears the Michigan media have been totally intimidated by the state's economic power elite. For the sake of our economy and our democracy, please share this with those who may be interested. Please do not spam those who are wilfully ignorant. The link to the video is below. It runs 9:18 and it was posted today.    Thanks - Vince Wade   Suspected Chinese Spy Co. Comes To Rural Michiganhttp://youtu.be/wVyvyNnY3o0

    And the winner is...

What is UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development?
It is the blueprint, the comprehensive plan of action for the 21st century to inventory and control all land, all water, all plants, all minerals, all animals, all construction, all means of production, all energy, all law enforcement, all health care, all food, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world
    .

Your energy consumption will be controlled until you can't farm, can't manufacture, can't travel, can't fish, can't use your land. Productivity and businesses are limited now.

You've heard that story about Tony Blair asking Angela Merkel how Germany could have such a high GDP when it was such a small country.  Merkel snapped at him: We still make things in Germany, Mr. Blair.
