$2 Billion Bet on Your Virtual Future:  Facebook and Virtual Reality is Agenda 21

3/27/2014

Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is betting $2 billion that you'll prefer virtual reality to the real thing.  He has just invested in Oculus, a company that makes headsets for virtual reality personal imaging. The 'story' is that this is all about gaming but it's not a big leap to virtual classrooms, virtual travel, virtual relationships, and virtual meals.  What does this mean for your future?

It's not a new idea to say that internet use is habit-forming.  You've also experienced or witnessed the gaming 'addiction' either personally or in your family members.  Now get ready for obsession on steroids with virtual reality.  When you put on this headset your body will respond to the 3D images as if they are truly reality. If you're wearing it and you look down you'll see your feet -- but they'll be the feet of the supermodel you see when you look in the virtual mirror. When you look up you'll see the cosmos through the space capsule window, or the Sistine Chapel ceiling as you walk alone through the building.  Lift the virtual fork to your virtual mouth and eat the gorgeous meal in Paris.  Look into the eyes of your virtual partner as you profess eternal love.  Walk across a tightrope over a deep canyon. Kill an enemy.

Your palms will sweat, your heart will beat faster, your eyes will dilate, your lungs will suck in air more deeply, and your nervous system will respond. Although your physical responses with the current virtual reality headset are not exactly like they would be if the experience were real, the future will most certainly include smells and sensations---like the 'Feelies' described in Huxley's Brave New World.  The addition of these sense stimulators will fool the brain.

Yes, it's a movie, a 3D virtual surround movie, but your body will respond as if it were real.  Your brain will believe that it is real.  It will, in fact, be far more appealing than your actual un-virtual life.  The stimulation your brain receives will be thrilling, and you'll be content to sit strapped in your chair living your virtual life.  Is this a fantasy? No. Look at this 1978 study in Science Magazine stating that Rhesus monkeys, when caged and given the choice of food or cocaine, chose cocaine 'almost exclusively.'  The addiction to virtual experience may likely lead to people sitting at their computers starving to death in their Smart Growth unit. Who needs living space or transportation when they're strapped to a virtual reality unit? Who needs relationships or families or pets when virtual reality is so much more satisfying and uncomplicated? Children will be extremely vulnerable to this fabulous new life---virtual teachers in virtual classrooms will teach limited learning for lifelong labor.  Rewards for correct behavior may be virtual, but the brain and body will accept them as real. Real personal interaction will be miserably inadequate when compared to the ecstatic joys of virtual life.

According to Stanford Professor Jeremy Bailenson, whose book Infinite Reality examines all aspects of virtual reality research, the time is coming when holograms will be in use by average people--you'll be able to take a virtual walk with a friend in real time and that friend will appear to be with you.  You won't be able to trust your eyes when you see what appears to be reality.  There will be no objective reality.

Just like you asked for Facebook, and begged for smart phones, and jumped on Second Life,  you'll love the novelty of virtual reality---until it is no longer a novelty. It will be a health care requirement to provide virtual reality to the handicapped, it will be used to perform mental health assessments, it will be a virtual teacher and a virtual classroom to billions, it will be used to keep prisoners quiet, it will be used to dumb down and pacify the populace.  It is the face of UN Agenda 21.

Can you resist or will you accept it as an inevitability?

RESIST SOCIAL MANIPULATION.
THIS IS UN AGENDA 21.

Thanks for insightful article, Rosa. I saw the article about Zuckerberg's dream of social implications of Virtual Reality when the purchase of Oculus was announced in the local news. I couldn't help but compare this vision of people operating in virtual reality being proposed as a thrilling thing, to the way he operates in another plane of reality himself. It was reported that he picked up his phone and called Pres. Obama direct (apparently O's line is open to tech oligarchs) and chewed out the president for only half hearted curtailing cyber surveillance. Wow, real reality. Two weeks later and Zuck, Reed Hastings,Eric Schmidt, and other Silicon Valley titans have a two hour meeting with Obama. JUST LIKE THAT ! No "virtual reality" when Zuck wants attention. Virtual Reality for all the drones, but an elite doesn't plan to rule the world as virtual managers. They crave the REAL EXPERIENCE OF REAL POWER over the rest of existence they've numbed to enjoy being perpetual puppets.

Just came across this while researching virtual reality in preparation for purchasing some game equipment for my sons. Thank you for offering a different perspective. We'll think more carefully about this---we had been quite excited about it but now we recognize that there are other aspects to this 'virtual life'.

    And the winner is...

What is UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development?
It is the blueprint, the comprehensive plan of action for the 21st century to inventory and control all land, all water, all plants, all minerals, all animals, all construction, all means of production, all energy, all law enforcement, all health care, all food, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world
    .

Your energy consumption will be controlled until you can't farm, can't manufacture, can't travel, can't fish, can't use your land. Productivity and businesses are limited now.

You've heard that story about Tony Blair asking Angela Merkel how Germany could have such a high GDP when it was such a small country.  Merkel snapped at him: We still make things in Germany, Mr. Blair.
