We don't want Common Core even if it teaches the Ten Commandments. The reason is this: Common Core is a product of the federal government and no matter what kind of curriculum/assessment it imposes on us, it can be changed at the whim of the federal government (The United States Department of Education in bed with OECD and UNESCO).

If one wants to stop Common Core, one MUST abolish the U.S. Dept. of Education and probably all the state depts. of education which are funded by the federal Department and which take their orders from the federal Department of Education.

This is what I called for on the back of my little "Back to Basics Reform or OBE, Skinnerian International Curriculum, 1985, boycotted by ALL major conservative groups.

When I blew the whistle on Project BEST, Better Education Skills through Technology" grant which put computer software into all the states (all subjects) I was fired from my position as Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Dept. of Education.

Changing the Common Core is like ripping all the tentacles off an octopus, but leaving the head.

Ronald Reagan did us in when he did not fulfill his promise to abolish the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Charlotte, you should contact Glenn Beck. He did a whole TV show about Common Core recently. I never heard of it til now as my children are all grown. As a "Former Senior Policy Advisor
U.S. Department of Education" it is surprising that you would want to abolish the U.S. Dept. of Education.

The U.S. Department of Education should have no say whatsoever in telling Parents where their own kids can or cannot go to school, what they learn, what they eat, or who they play with. The DOE is training kids to be well behaved slaves of the corporation known as the U.S.A. Since when do our own public servants (US Gov) have the right to tell the people who created it what to do?

Phil Peterson, it shouldn't be a surprise at all as the federal gvt. has no place in education. Schools should be run at the local level with parents having the ultimate authority through local elected representatives. Centrally planned education is a communist concept and I think that it is pretty obvious what a disaster public education has become as a direct result of gvt. Involvement. There is no constitutional authority for the gvt to be involved in education and look what they have been and continue to do to our children. That's enough! DOE needs to be abolished the same way it was created, with a stroke of the pen. I also believe that there are a boatload of potential indictments and prison sentences for many of the people who have brought about the state thst education is in.

I have recently read John Taylor Gatto's "Dumbing Us Down", and am currently reading Ms. Iserbyt's "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America"......and awesome, shocking, scholarly work. Everyone needs to read these two books....... Thank you, Charlotte Iserbyt.... you have done a great service to humanity !

Gatto's Dumbing us Down is excellent, but you will find much more useful information in his book called "Weapons of Mass Instruction." This book justifies anyone taking their children out of the government system.

At their core, our children are anything but common.

What would a complete plan for complete control be without indoctrinating the young?

Teaching them collectivism, Gaia is God, guilt for being human, fear, truth is arrived at through consensus, global warming, dumbing them down to be obedient serfs.

Teachers that don't conform having been losing their jobs. It doesn't seem to provide for parental input.

Parents need to take a proactive role in inwhat's going on at school.

By the way, NO VACCINES!
